Amman hosted the MENA Travel Market Forum on 9–10 June 2026 at the Signia by Hilton, positioning Jordan as a proactive voice in the region’s tourism recovery. The event drew over 2,500 travel professionals, 114 exhibitors, and delegations from more than 19 countries — a larger gathering than the 2025 edition — and brought together airline executives, hotel groups, destination management companies, and technology providers from across the Middle East and North Africa.

Royal Jordanian served as Official Carrier for the forum, underscoring the airline’s role in maintaining connectivity to Amman through a difficult first half of 2026. The airline has kept its core international network operating and continues to provide connections between Jordan and major European, Gulf, and Asian hub airports.

Discussions centred on how the region’s travel sector can use technology and cross-border collaboration to rebuild international visitor confidence. Key themes included artificial intelligence in hotel and airline operations, digital payment solutions for international tourists, sustainable destination management, and electric aviation. Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism used the forum to present its inbound strategies for 2026–2027 and to signal that the Kingdom remains open and committed to tourism investment.

Jordan’s Current Tourism Situation

Jordan’s travel industry has faced a difficult period as regional tensions dampened international bookings in early 2026. The situation has materially improved since then: the UK’s FCDO lifted its advisory against travel to most of Jordan earlier in June, reflecting the fact that Petra, Wadi Rum, and Amman itself have continued to operate normally throughout the regional turbulence.

Several airlines that paused Amman services have announced resumption dates, and the Jordan Pass — which bundles the visa fee with entry to more than 40 attractions — remains available online.
