Hotels in Jordan: Where to Stay in Every City
Jordan's accommodation ranges from Amman's design boutique hotels to Bedouin desert camps in Wadi Rum, international beach resorts in Aqaba, and guesthouses a short walk from the entrance to Petra. The choice of where to sleep matters as much as the choice of what to see — Wadi Rum deserves at least one night in a camp to catch the sunrise over the desert.
Value for money is competitive across most price points. A well-located mid-range hotel in Amman runs JOD 40–80 (USD 55–115) per night including breakfast. Desert camps in Wadi Rum offer full-board options from JOD 50 per person. We have written detailed where-to-stay guides for all cities covered on this site.

Types of Accommodation
Boutique Hotels in Amman
Amman has a growing scene of design-forward boutique hotels in the Rainbow Street and Jabal Amman areas. Converted Ottoman-era buildings and modern properties with strong local character. Rates from approximately JOD 50–120 (USD 70–170) per night at mid-range.
Wadi Rum Desert Camps
Sleeping in Wadi Rum is one of Jordan's signature experiences. Options range from basic Bedouin tents at JOD 20–40 per person to luxury bubble tents and sky camps at JOD 150–400. Most include dinner and breakfast. Stargazing is exceptional — minimal light pollution.
Petra Guesthouses
Wadi Musa (the town nearest Petra) has dozens of guesthouses and hotels. Budget options run JOD 15–35 per night. Staying the night allows you to visit Petra early before tour groups arrive — worth it. Avoid the cheapest options in summer; air conditioning matters.
Aqaba Beach Resorts
Jordan's Red Sea coast concentrates its resort accommodation in Aqaba. Kempinski, InterContinental, and Mövenpick all have properties here. Rates JOD 80–200+ per night. Private beach access is the main advantage over central Aqaba hotels.
