Exodus Travels and G Adventures have both confirmed Jordan departures for October and November 2026, adding their schedules to those of Intrepid Travel, which restarted its Jordan programme in June following the UK FCDO advisory update. The three operators together represent a significant share of organised group travel from the UK to the Middle East, and their collective return is being read by the trade as confirmation that Jordan is fully back on the mainstream touring circuit for the autumn season.
Demand levels and what operators are saying
Industry sources report Jordan enquiry levels in September 2026 at a four-year high. That reflects a compressed travel market: a segment of travellers who had been deferring a Jordan trip for two or more years is now booking, overlapping with a renewed wave of first-time Jordan interest driven by social media coverage of Petra and Wadi Rum. Exodus has noted that its October small-group departures from London are close to capacity; G Adventures reports its 8-day Jordan Real Food Adventure selling particularly strongly.
Why October and November are peak months
Autumn is broadly regarded as the best time to visit Jordan. Temperatures across Petra and Wadi Rum sit in the high teens to mid-20s Celsius - warm enough to hike comfortably, cool enough to avoid the heat exhaustion risk of summer visits. Petra is a physically demanding site; the cooler months make the longer trails, including the hike to the Monastery, genuinely accessible for most fitness levels.
The Dead Sea, Jerash, and Aqaba all benefit similarly from autumn conditions. Aqaba’s Red Sea water temperature remains excellent for snorkelling and diving through October and into November.
Availability and booking
Travellers looking for October departures should move quickly: popular dates with Exodus and G Adventures are filling as of early October. November has more availability across most operators, though this is expected to narrow as booking momentum continues. Independent travellers tend to find Petra and Wadi Rum at their most comfortable in these same months, and hotel availability - while not constrained - is easier to plan around with a few weeks’ notice given that block allocations go to group operators first.
