Air Arabia is launching a new non-stop service between Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and Amman City Airport (ADJ) from 15 November 2026, operating four times weekly. The route gives travellers from the UAE a second airport option into Amman. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi already flies to Amman City Airport three times weekly from Zayed International Airport, and Air Arabia’s Sharjah operation runs entirely separate schedules.
What Changes for Travellers
Amman City Airport sits closer to the city centre than Queen Alia International Airport, making it a practical entry point if you’re heading directly into downtown Amman or the north of the country. The Sharjah route is timed SHJ 08:00 to ADJ 10:30, with the return departing in the afternoon. Air Arabia is operating the route with Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft.
The four weekly departures make it viable for short-break itineraries from the UAE. With Wadi Rum’s prime stargazing season running through November, the timing works well for visitors combining Amman with a desert camp.
Context
Air Arabia’s Sharjah base already serves Amman via Queen Alia International Airport. This new route is an addition, not a replacement, and targets the growing point-to-point traffic between the northern Emirates and central Jordan. Fares are expected to be competitive with Gulf carrier pricing on the corridor.
If you’re arriving from the UAE via Amman City Airport, note that ground transport links differ from Queen Alia. Pre-booking an airport transfer from Amman is advisable, especially for early morning arrivals.
