Royal Jordanian begins scheduled passenger service between Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from 15 September 2026. The route operates four times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner equipment.
The New Delhi Route
The Amman–Delhi sector fills a gap in direct air connectivity between the Middle East and South Asia. At launch, flights operate on the following schedule:
- Amman to Delhi: Departs 02:10, arrives 11:30 local time (approximately 7 hours)
- Delhi to Amman: Departs 13:30, arrives 16:10 local time
The route is timed to offer useful connections to Royal Jordanian’s European and North American network — travellers from London, Frankfurt, New York, and Toronto can connect through Amman to Delhi without a Middle Eastern hub layover.
For the Indian market, the service provides direct access to Jordan’s key destinations: Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba’s Red Sea diving coast — all of which have seen growing interest from Indian outbound travellers following the Jordan Pass’s promotion in India.
Beijing Service in Planning
Royal Jordanian has confirmed that a Amman–Beijing route is in advanced planning in conjunction with Air China. The two carriers have been negotiating a codeshare arrangement that would see RJ operate the Amman sector and Air China provide connections onward from Beijing to secondary Chinese cities. An announcement is expected before the end of 2026, with service anticipated in Q1 2027 if regulatory approvals proceed on schedule.
The Beijing route would make Jordan only the second Middle Eastern country (after UAE) with a direct connection to the Chinese capital.
What This Means for Visitors
For travellers from India, the launch of the Amman–Delhi service removes the previous requirement to connect through Dubai, Doha, or Istanbul to reach Jordan — a significant reduction in total journey time for travellers from Delhi, Gurgaon, and the NCR region.
The new frequency (four days a week at launch) is sufficient to support 3–5 night Jordan itineraries flying from Delhi on a Friday-Saturday and returning mid-week, which aligns well with the popular combination of Petra + Wadi Rum + Dead Sea.

Tickets are available now through the Royal Jordanian website and standard GDS channels. At launch, promotional economy fares from Delhi to Amman are priced from approximately ₹32,000 (around USD 385) one-way. Business class fares are available from around ₹1,10,000 (approximately USD 1,320) one-way.
